HDR demos: APEX FTE presentation

Hands-on HDR demo content accompanying Michael Stattmann's APEX FTE talk
castLabs

Here you'll find the most compatible example of HDR content (i.e. HDR10) along with an SDR variant and a Dolby Vision profile 5 encode. The only codec supported across all PEDs is HEVC, however, it's unfortunately not broadly supported in browsers. Due to this we provide an SDR variant as an H264 encoded version.

A VP9 HDR version of the HDR10 content will be added in the coming days.

Please contact castLabs for more information or if you have any questions.

1623 HDR Cosmos Laundromat Hybrid Dolby Vision 8.1 & HDR10+ 1000nits, 1080p HEVC, HLS Apple doesn't support the Dolby Vision profile 8.1 on mobile devices, but device could play back HDR10 "base layer". However, it doesn't actually work due to a bug in Apple's AVPlayer, but castLabs has a custom solution available to address the issue (on request). Doesn't play because of HEVC. Provides best experience on most Android devices due to supporting static as well as dynamic metadata in Dolby as well as HDR10+ formats. Some Android devices with Dolby Vision support don't support profile 8.1, but the HDR10 "base layer" will always work.
